Friday's marathon in the United Arab Emirates lived up to its pre-race hype and then some. Four men were still together with 200 meters to go; marathon debutant Lelisa Desisa sprinted best to win in 2:04:45. The first four finishers were Ethiopian. The fifth finisher, Bernard Koech of Kenya, also made his marathon debut, and his 2:04:53 made the race the first in history to have five runners break 2:05. The women's race was mild by comparison: Tirfi Beyane won in 2:23:23, and led Ethiopian women to claiming seven of the top 10 spots, including the first six. More"
