10K training program
10K training program: "Running a 10K race is a long enough
distance that it is very hard to do the race without a 10K training
program. A lot of people that don’t really run but are in good
enough physical shape can make it through a 5K without much
training, but a 10K race of 6.2 miles is just too much to suffer
through it."

In 1999 Dr. Steven Robbins, a biomechanics expert at McGill University
Centre for studies in aging, released a study saying that expensive running
shoes aren’t worth the money, and can even increase your risk of injury.
Since that study there have been several others that have confirmed
Robbins findings and showed that thick-soled shoes doubled your risk
of injury over thin-soled shoes.

The best places for bike riding in the northern Twin Cities: "In the northern Twin Cities
suburbs there are many places to bike. Some are better than others. The reason these
sites were chosen is because they offer paved trails where you can ride and get a good
workout while avoiding riding in traffic and dealing with the extra danger of sharing
the road with cars."

Biking in the Twin Cities, the Grand Round
Biking in the Twin Cities, the Grand Round: "Biking is one of the best cardio
exercises that you can do; it’s also one of the easiest on your knees and back
. There are many good places to ride in the Twin Cities; one of the best is The
Grand Rounds. This ride is not one to try if you are not in good biking shape,
but it is one you should do. The ride is between 40 and 50 miles depending
on if you ride around the Minneapolis lakes or just past them."
